Collembolla subclass
Springtails are most often used as clean up crews for bio-active vivariums and food for the smallest of critters- usually very young juveniles of tiny insect species. Springtails eat detritus, pollen and fungi in animal enclosures. They are most well known for their ability to "spring" a short distance in defense.
We send our cultures in a 300ml container with coco coir for safe transit. For long term culturing, the springtails should be moved to a larger charcoal based enclosure.
We recommend reading a caresheet prior to obtaining springtails.
