Excelsior or Wood Wool is an ideal climbing medium for raising flies as feeder insects. Wood wool is biodegradable, compostable and holds up better than coffee filters or shredded paper in fly cultures.
Approx. 2g of wood wool is enough to serve 1 fruit fly cultures. Refer to photos of suggested use. Do not stock wood wool as densely as seen in cultures arriving in the mail- these cultures are over stuffed to keep flies alive during postage!
