Used primarily for measuring the Total Dissolved Solids content in water, the TDS meter is helpful for aquarists needing to get a general idea of dissolved mineral content in the water. This is especially helpful to shrimp keepers in monitoring the stability of their water. Note that nitrate will add to the TDS reading as well.
